$3,000 Goal

Imagine how wonderful it would be if there wasn't a need for animal shelters in your community.  That would mean that pet overpopulation and animal cruelty were eradicated, and a thing of the past.  We at Atlanta Rescue Dog Cafe not only envision that - we actually work toward that goal EVERY DAY.  As the only nonprofit whose primary mission is to prevent animal cruelty and keep pets from ever entering shelters, and thus, from "becoming rescues" in the first place, our innovative humane education and community-building programs (accompanied by nationally certified therapy dogs) strive to make that a reality.  We work with communities across the U.S. (both virtually and in-person) to encourage responsible pet care, safe and humane animal practices, and promote the measures that keep pets from ending up on the streets or in shelters.  Since 2018, our programs have reached more than 30,000 people - 60% of whom are children, and more than 70% are from Title One schools and under-served communities.

During Covid, schools, libraries, veterinary programs, and youth organizations all over the country were seeking engaging programs (both virtually and with safe, physical distancing), and we answered the call!  Pre-Covid, our programming reached 500 participants a month!  But since spring 2020, we actually doubled our impact, reaching more than 1,000 participants every month - promoting positive human-pet interactions, and safe and responsible pet care across the country.  Now that in-person programming has opened up and created more opportunities for us, This is why we need your help in supporting these vital programs that develop the next generation of kind, caring, and compassionate animal welfare advocates and responsible pet owners.

In addition to our programs promoting humane animal practices, our innovative community-building initiative, The One Leash Project, re-purposes climbing rope into beautiful and sturdy dog leashes that we donate to first responders, whom we train how to secure pets in emergencies so they can be reunited with their families (and kept off the streets and out of shelters). Now, more than ever, we need community-building initiatives like this.  As a bonus, this program has kept more than 6,000 lbs. of material out of landfills, all while teaching our participants how to be kind to people, pets, and the planet.

Our certified therapy dogs are by far the stars of the show! By partnering with them and their owners, we teach our participants how to safely and respectfully approach dogs, and how to care for pets. We've had wonderful events at homeless shelters, senior care facilities, schools, scout troops, and organizations that support individuals going through challenges. And we want to do more.

Your donation to Atlanta Rescue Dog Cafe helps strengthen communities, keeps kids safe, and prevents pets from entering overcrowded shelters. Together, with your help, we can make shelters a thing of the past and develop the next generation of kind, caring, and compassionate animal advocates.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
