Tarrant County Hands of Hope

Hands of Hope is a street outreach to the unsheltered homeless, our teams complete on-site coordinated housing assessments to get them into the housing system, a vital first step toward permanent housing. We work to identify the root-cause of their homelessness and connect them with services that address their need.
We believe there are no hopeless situations.

Our Needs

Funds are needed to assist families experiencing homelessness. When funding is available, we are able to help address some of the most critical needs they face—needs that, in many cases, can help resolve the circumstances contributing to their homelessness.

Sometimes, the solution can be as simple as providing a bus or train ticket to help someone return home to a safe and supportive environment. Other times, assistance may include an emergency motel stay when shelter is unavailable, a car repair that allows someone to maintain transportation to employment or access essential services, or a replacement tire that helps keep them safely on the road.

Our funding also allows us to address needs that can otherwise become significant barriers to obtaining shelter and stability. For individuals experiencing homelessness who have pets, veterinary services may be necessary before they can access shelters that require pets to be licensed and have current vaccination records. By helping cover these costs, we can remove an additional barrier and help families remain together with their pets.

We may also provide fuel gift cards, transportation assistance, and other forms of emergency support based on each family's unique circumstances. There are countless situations where a small amount of timely assistance can make the difference between remaining homeless and taking an important step toward stability.
