Lily is Still Smiling Through the Loneliness

Lily is a beautiful year old heeler mix. She sadly has found herself at a southern VA shelter after her owner surrendered her for chasing their cat. Poor Lily had no idea that fun game of cat-and-mouse would cause her to lose her home forever. Lily's smile and loving demeanor surely would make her a great pet for a new adopter, but the adoptions at the rural shelter are few and far between. As the shelter fills up with influxes of other dogs, they often have to make very sad decisions as to who gets to stay and who has reached the end of their life. Homeward Trails can't bear to think that Lily may meet a very upsetting fate. Please don't let Lily get left behind.
