And pneumonia too!
Sasha is recovering well from her emergency surgery, but now it seems she has developed pneumonia! It has been one thing after another for this poor pup.
Sasha would rest much easier knowing her bills are paid! She has enough on her plate. With your help, we can help her relax and make the best of her recovery.
It was a midnight operation; a hail Mary pass to save poor Sasha's life.
Sasha--still recovering from a surgery to repair her ruptured sutures, following her spay surgery just weeks ago--had a little too much fun with her toys yesterday. So much fun, that she decided to eat not one, but TWO of her chew toys. Before our staff could even react, she had swallowed both toys whole!
Toys aren't meant to be eaten. An object like that can cause a life-threatening obstruction as it moves through the body's systems, causing blockages and disrupting normal processes. Time was not on our side.
We rushed Sasha to the vet, who immediately tried making Sasha throw up, and any other non-surgical solution we could think of. But nothing was working and the clock was ticking. Surgery was the only option.
Late into the evening, into the early morning hours, Sasha's veterinary team operated, and eventually managed to extract the two toys you see below. (The blue toy was cut apart during surgery to make it easier to remove--but Sasha did in fact swallow it whole!)
Sasha is alive today because of her veterinary team. She would have certainly died if those toys had stayed inside any longer. She gets to live another day, and experience all the joys that life has in store because of their valiant and selfless efforts. But now, we have the bill to pay.
Sasha's life is just beginning. We need your help to cover these extraordinary expenses for these very unordinary circumstances.
