Little Red Almost Lost His Life

It's a miracle Little Red is alive today. He was found clinging to life in a ditch after being attacked by several dogs in rural Virginia. He had several wounds, but the most severe was a gaping wound on his chest (the photo is too grizzly to post). Infection had already set in and he was rushed to the vet by an animal control officer. They weren't sure he would make it, but this little guy is a survivor. Little Red had multiple surgeries to clean his wounds and close them. He had to live in bandages for weeks while he healed. But through it all, he's been nothing but sweet and happy to see the staff at the clinic. He's finally healthy enough to move and we want to bring him to Homeward Trails so he doesn't end up at a shelter. We're anticipating he'll need some follow up care to ensure everything is healing properly and his sponsorship makes sure we're prepared to continue Little Red's forward progress as he settles into a foster home and readies himself for adoption.
