Sharon made it to Homeward Trails. Now we need to get her heartworm disease under control, before those worms multiply and clog poor Sharon's organs, causing untold pain and damage. She's made it to safety. Now let's get her healthy.
Little Sharon is too tiny to be homeless! This sweet 2 year old chihuahua mix was found wandering with her puppy friend in southern VA. We have no idea how she survived! Who knows how long Sharon went searching for food and water. Her little body was likely infested with fleas and worms, and worse--heartworms. Her condition would have deteriorated more the longer she was alone. Fortunately, Sharon was brought into a rural shelter and is safe for now, but she needs treatment for her fleas and worms--she needs treatment for her heartworms before they can wreak any more havoc on her poor little body.
All Sharon wants is a warm lap to cuddle up on. With winter coming, she will no doubt be shivering all night long if left in the cement dog run at the shelter.
