Today is the last day of the month long fundraiser!  We are only $555 shy of our goal for our first remodeling/improvement project.  Help improve our dog kennels for the dogs!

No donation is too small!

THANK YOU!!!

St. Francis Animal Shelter was built in 2004 and our dog kennels haven't been updated since.  We are trying to raise money to remodel our dog kennels.  Currently, our dog kennels have either chain link fence with plastic attached, or corrugated metal, between kennels.  The metal is rusting out and there is exposed wood.  The chain link does not allow for complete isolation of fluids or anything else between dogs.  When we clean out a kennel, fluids transfer from one kennel to the next.

We'd like to install stainless steel kennel walls that will attach to our back wall as the current kennels do.  The walls will have a pass-through door to be able to utilize multiple kennels for larger dogs or dogs brought in together.  They will seal at the floor so no more fluid transfer as well.

Additionally, there will be a stainless steel door on the front of each kennel that will have a swivel door at the bottom so the food and water bowls will stay mounted to the door and can't be knocked over by the dog.

Also, our trench drain covers are rusting badly.  Some we can't use anymore the rust is so bad.  Regularly, a dog gets a claw trapped in there.  We have a volunteer welder who is willing to make us some new trench drain covers as long as we provide the material.  We'd like to put in stainless steel drain covers so they will last longer and hold up to the animal-safe chemicals we use to sanitize.

Lastly, due to the noise generated by the dogs barking, we'd like to put up sound absorbing acoustical panels.  This will help minimize the echo effect our barking dogs create.  This echoes into the cat rooms as well as the front lobby.  The acoustical panels will help minimize this.

Anyone, or any business, who donates $2500 will get a sign in the kennel of their choice stating, "This kennel built by a donation from _____".  It's a great opportunity to show your support for our shelter dogs.

Thank you for your support.
