Hot Tub's medical bill could buy an actual hot tub, and we need your help to pay it!

Meet Hot Tub!
Hot Tub the cat is a very special boy who came to us on July 1st 2023 as a stray. During Hot Tub’s time with us, it became apparent that he wasn’t doing well. We originally suspected a urinary blockage was the culprit, but further investigation proved there was much more at stake.
When diagnostics were being run, a routine blood draw resulted in extreme stress for Hot Tub, and he was rushed to our partners at Magrane Veterinary Medical Center. Once there, further examination and an x-ray revealed free fluid in his abdomen and a peritoneal hernia pushing most of his organs into his chest cavity.
We are so grateful to Dr. Candey and the team at Magrane, who sprang into action and preformed emergency surgery to correct the hernia. Dr. Candey and team stayed until midnight to save Hot Tub’s life, and kept him over the weekend to monitor his progress. During his stay, he was also neutered, microchipped, feLv tested, and given a rabies vaccine.
This story has a happy ending, and Hot Tub has made a full recovery and now begins the search for his forever home! Dr. Candey worked so hard to save this boy’s life, and she is offering a FREE initial vet visit to his adopter, and would love to oversee his care. While we don’t anticipate any complications from the surgery, all cats need vet care, and Dr. Candey and Hot Tub already share a special bond.
As you may have guessed, at this point Hot Tub’s medical bill could, well, buy an actual hot tub. With his total bill being over $2,500. This amazing story of recovery comes at a high cost for our non-profit shelter. It is simply astounding that we were able to save this cat, a feat that just wouldn’t have been possible 10 years ago. The reason we are able to say yes to life-saving treatments such as this is because of our amazing community of supporters. People like you who go out of your way to ensure that the homeless animals of our community have a soft place to land. So please, if you can, consider donating to Hot Tub’s medical fund. Every dollar counts and we couldn’t be more grateful for all your support!
