Hi everyone!

I am so excited to be helping Animal Friends Alliance raise money in order for us to continue to provide affordable and sometimes even lifesaving surgeries and services!

I have been a veterinary assistant for the organization for a little over a year now, which has allowed me to be a part of and to assist with many of these procedures. Outside of routine spays and neuters, we also sometimes have to perform emergency surgeries. Most of the time, the surgery is an emergency spay due to an infected uterus or pyometra. If the owner cannot afford to have the surgery performed at a full service or emergency veterinary clinic, our organization can sometimes provide this life saving surgery at a substantially lower cost.

Our subsidized spay/neuter clinic and vaccine clinic, pet food pantry,  and community cat program (CCP) all work in conjunction with one another in order to help people struggling to provide care for their animals. We believe that the best home for an animal is the one they are already in! In addition, our trap-neuter-vaccinate-return program helps to ensure that the feral or outdoor cat populations in our community are not reproducing or spreading disease.

Last, but certainly not least, we provide a shelter for both dogs and cats-ensuring medical care, enrichment, training, and eventually adoption into a healthy and loving home.

We provide any medical care the animal needs upon their arrival- shaving dogs that are severely matted, amputating limbs and removing eyeballs that otherwise cannot be saved, heartworm treatment regimens, parvo/giardia treatments, and so much more.

Animal Friends Alliance works with shelters throughout the country by accepting transports of shelter animals at risk of euthanasia, so even if you don't live in Colorado, your donation is helping dogs and cats across the nation!

In the last 16 years, Animal Friends Alliance has:

  • Found homes for nearly 25,000 cats and 10,500 dogs.
  • Vaccinated 34,575 pets at low-cost vaccine clinics
  • Performed 85,000 spay/neuter surgeries, with over 6,000 of them being at little to no cost for low-income families.
  • Distributed over 400,000 lbs of kibble to help struggling families feed their pets.

If you're an animal lover like myself, you can rest assured knowing your donation is going toward a cause that helps so many different animals in so many different ways.
