Sweet Miami, a 4 year old Hound/Pit mix, was surrendered to a rural Virginia shelter just hours after giving birth to nine tiny puppies. Instead of a warm, quiet home where she could rest and care for her newborns, she found herself frightened, exhausted, and surrounded by the unfamiliar sights and sounds of a shelter. Thankfully, she and her babies were rushed to a veterinary office, where they are safe for now, but it is only a temporary solution. Homeward Trails is determined to bring Miami and all nine of her precious puppies into one of their maternity foster homes, where they can finally experience comfort, safety, and love.
