Tanner Has Spent a Year and a Half in a Cage

Tanner has spent nearly half his young life behind the cold bars of a rural Georgia shelter. This sweet 2 year old Retriever/Bulldog mix has been waiting for someone, anyone, to notice him for over a year and a half. Day after day, he wags his tail and tries to stay hopeful, but even the best boys can only hold on for so long. His bright eyes are starting to dim, and his once playful spirit is fading under the weight of loneliness and rejection. With so few adoptions at this shelter, time is running out for Tanner, and the staff can no longer keep him. No dog deserves to grow up in a cage, especially not a gentle soul who has never stopped trying to be good. Homeward Trails wants to give Tanner the chance at life and love that he has been cruelly denied, but they can’t do it without help.
